Teacher Resources CentreLesson Plans![]() Brian Greene Our five-part lesson plans offer a number of suggestions on how you can structure your music lessons, using Gigajam as a tool. Each lesson plan contains supporting video footage – just click on the links to view them. We also look at setting up a classroom, delivering the introduction to a lesson, as well as looking at the purpose of Gigajam TV Shows and Gigajam Songbooks. We welcome any feedback you may have and we hope you find this resource useful. Lesson Plan OneIn our first lesson we will demonstrate to the students what they will be able to play after completing Level One of the Gigajam course. We will start by showing the Gigajam course writers performing one of the five specially composed tunes. The students will also have an opportunity to familiarise themselves with their instruments of choice, as well as learn how to use the software. Once they have run through their first music instrument lesson they will have an opportunity to play as a band. The lesson plan contains a two bar vamp for your students to play. They may be able to achieve this in your first session, or perhaps at the beginning of session two. Lesson Plan TwoIn lesson two we provide the students with an opportunity to consolidate their understanding of notes, note values and their appearance. The lesson plan includes the addition of two whole class activities; Rhythm Section Studies and the second Live Performance Vamp. The students will continue to develop their skills on their chosen instrument and then work together playing live. These plans are a guide to how you might wish to structure your Gigajam lessons and we would welcome any feedback you may have. We hope you find this resource of use. Lesson Plans 3–5 will be published here soon.If you wish to contact us to discuss the Gigajam For Schools content then please get in touch with our Education Department.
